SAIL (San Antonio’s Individualized Learning)
Educational Therapy combines therapeutic and teaching techniques to greater understand what helps and hinders learning. Evidence-based strategies, tools, and programs are used to support students based on his/her unique learning.
Educational Therapy is more than identifying where a student is struggling or what they need to learn. They identify why a student is struggling and how they learn best!
Please call or email to schedule time to discuss your student’s needs, go over his/her assessment, if applicable, and develop a plan for a future meeting. The educational therapy process typically begins with a phone call from a parent wanting help for their child. It is extremely important during this time to learn a great deal about the student at this initial phone contact so planning for this call should be scheduled in advance.
Typically, a separate appointment with the parent and student is scheduled. We will discuss the information obtained from the prior phone and/or email. At this time, it is important to gather further information concerning the context of the student and the family during this stage in the process. The child’s family life, peer group, community, and educational environments may all impact the achievement of goals. I have a range of professional backgrounds, from special education to speech and language therapy to psychology. But they are all focused on the whole child—that is, the emotional as well as cognitive factors involved in successful learning.
After the consultation, a recommendation of day(s), times, length of session and the individualized plan is created, and a contract will be signed by parties. A rapport will be developed as the flexibility and spontaneity of the sessions are fluid dependent on the student’s individualized plan. Empathy and sensitivity are shown to every student while understanding and engaging in a partnership in the journey toward school success. At this time, all reports have been read, schoolwork has been reviewed, academic skills have been informally assessed during the sessions, and the road has been paved to successful accomplishment of the tasks at hand. It is during this stage that my expertise of the student’s learning style is implemented to work best for the student. I typically describe this stage as “retraining the brain” or “learning how to learn.” This is the exciting stage when the student begins to exhibit confidence and build competence. When necessary, I will test/retest a student to chart strengths and weaknesses, to gain further understanding of where there may be opportunities to grow and to compare progress.
I love puzzles! Though, I have found that the easy ones just don’t bring me joy like the complicated intrinsic ones. I like the pieces that are upside down, backwards, and different from the others. It takes time to put them together as each shape takes its correct position, and sometimes those pieces have to be moved around for it just to fit perfect. This is a longer process, but in the end, it was worth the time and effort to enjoy the final masterpiece. This is how I see my kiddos as beautiful intrinsic works of art that need time and attention to each moving piece. The work that I invest in my students is a process finding how each individual learns most distinctly and accurately. It is a journey, but one that will eventually create a masterful lifelong learner.
I have over 24 years of experience working alongside students with learning differences, such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, ADD, ADHD, Auditory Processing Disorders, Visual Perceptual/Visual Motor Deficiency, and several others. My background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education and Interdisciplinary Studies and a Masters of Science degree in Special Education and Early Intervention. I am certified through NILD, a nationally and worldwide recognized learning methodology for intervention, as well successful other organizations recognized for how to specifically teach to learners with individual learning differences. My passion for learning, research and continual development in the field of educational therapy is evident with the success of my students.

Educational therapy is a diverse field that is a combination of educational and therapeutic practices. This helps students to work with and overcome their learning challenges. I am passionate about the research and time that I engage with each of my students, families and occasionally teachers and administrators. It is critical when creating a plan for academic and overall well-being, as well as the rapport with the student.

Molly has been a source of strength and support for our family. She has worked tirelessly with my son for over two years to improve his fine motor skills, phonics skills and attention issues. The results have been tremendous. Molly has a great rapport with kids. She engages with them easily and makes therapy fun. She’s very good at what she does and we would strongly recommend.
Ms. Jennings worked with both of our children for over a year and was an incredible support for our family. She was unfailingly kind and thoughtful and always made sure she not only answered our questions but also gave us insights and exercises to support our kids between sessions. Her work with them involved all aspects of their needs.
Molly has completely changed our lives. When we first started therapy with her, my son, Sam, was struggling with every facet of his education. She has helped him discover how to learn, how to think critically, and how to believe in himself. He looks forward to every session, and I love all the progress that he has made. Molly is engaging, supportive, and truly concerned for his well-being, which motivates him even more. Sam has changed from hating school to loving to read and learn.
Ms. Jennings has been working with our daughter for 4 years. Throughout this process, we have seen our daughter go from struggling with academics, independence, and confidence to excelling above and beyond her grade level. She motivated our daughter to want to learn and try harder. Our daughter started looking forward to learning when she saw Ms. Jennings. Her love for what she does, her professionalism, experience, and commitment is undeniable. We have been very blessed to have her in our lives and highly recommend her!
We have been amazed at the progress both our children have made since working with Ms. Jennings. Not only have their reading levels and skills improved, but more importantly, their confidence has grown tremendously! She has helped them learn the tools they need to tackle their work in and outside the classroom and feel comfortable with their diagnosis.
